80年代以降のL.A.パンクの代表バンドであり、オフスプリングをはじめとして90年代に脚光を浴びたパンク・バンドが多数影響を公言しているバンド。Mike Nessは、風貌から何から、まさに親分である

結成は70年代の末、L.A.郊外のオレンジ・カウンティ出身。81年レコードデビュー。Mike Nessはドラッグに没入し、しばらく刑務所生活も体験。一時、バンドは活動停止に陥る

Mike Nessは99年と2000年に、『Cheating At Solitaire』『Under The Influences』というソロ・アルバムを発表。後者はカヴァーがほとんど　（Excite Music より）
